At the initiative of the Prime Minister of Portugal - curated by Bárbara Coutinho, Director of MUDE (Portuguese Museum of Design and Fashion) - some pieces from our collection were selected to be part of the exhibition "Design in São Bento - Traços da Cultura Portuguesa" , available to the public from January 25, 2020, at the Prime Minister's Official Residence.
The pieces on display belong to our line of luminaires "ACOUSTIC LIGHTING®" and "TILE LIGHTING®" by Miguel Arruda.
The initiative aimed to transform this space of sovereignty and exhibit an epic number of national design, heritage and Portuguese culture, amplifying a voice from different age groups and times in the country, selecting a sample of furniture, lamps, fabrics and objects since the XII century to the century XXI.
In the CMTV interview with the Prime Minister of Portugal, António Costa, the Tower luminaire always appears in the background behind it, as can be seen in the attached video, TOWER @ São Bento.
This unprecedented initiative represents the various national sectors of production, demonstrating the importance of design as a strategic factor of innovation and popularity that personifies the Portugal brand. The “Design in São Bento - Traços da Cultura Portuguesa” will be open for 18 months and offers guided tours every first Sunday of each month.
